Ryan and Farrah at the Rolling Stones 1980:

I was hired to photograph the J. Giles band by their publicist, Guy Thomas. As the opening act for The Rolling Stones, I anticipated several celebrities would show up. The Stones went onstage and I spotted Farrah Fawcett, Ryan O'Neal and his kids Tatum and Griffin. There were rumors Ryan and Farrah were dating, but no photos yet. I knew Tatum, but when I asked Ryan if he would pose for a family photo he just kept walking. He passed me, then turned around and said, "No one ever asks if they can take my photo. Go ahead and take your shot, but just one." I went into action and got amazing smiles. I actually took two photos -- this one is the best.
